It doesn’t look oddly long although I think your Aero Lee fit set the gold standard which can’t be beaten. If you really like the materials and the details keep it but otherwise send it back before making a loss.

Looks pretty good to me. Only the sleeves seem a bit long , but I would trust the creases to reduce them to the right size.

You are 100% right. It fits okay, I guess, but with both Aero Lee or the sherpa 533 around, I just don't see ever having a need to reach for this one. . .

Monitor,
If mine fit that good I would keep it and order another one for a spare! That looks awesome and that is what I was imagining when I ordered mine. It would be a keeper my book

I actually opened up this thread just to say that I have requested a return shipping slip and a refund from Iron Heart on my Storm Rider. I really wanted it to work but I tried it on again for the last time this morning and damn thing almost reaches my crotch Good for a car coat, bad for a jean jacket.

@Monitor.. I wont tell you to keep it if your not blown away by the jacket for any reason... but I think the jacket looks really good on you... Like El Marro says.. if mine fit like that Id woulda kept it..

And to close out my IH saga.. I was able to find someone on the IH forum who wanted it so its on its way to him in Connecticut... only cost me the shipping..

is it just the photo, or the sleeve seam at the rear is not the same position on the left vs right
comparing it to yoke, the left one seems lower

Sent mine back first thing Friday. I knew right away I wasn’t happy with it. I didn’t get NEARLY the fit monitor did. Just like El Marro and Boyo mine was about 4” too long. It’ll be interesting to see how many sizes reappear after the two hour sell out. I suspect it’ll be mainly sizes XL and up b/c that’s where the numbers went haywire.

You are right! It's one whole inch of a difference!
Personally would not be happy with that kind of error, especially not at IH prices. I have a fair amount of IH pieces and they are wonderful, but the prices are only justified by their longevity and precision. Is the difference only in where the sleeve seam meets the yoke, or is the yoke itself crooked?

I am surprised at this, too... All my IH's - and I've got four - are made with laser precision and are flawless. Weird. I don't think the yoke is crooked but I can't quite figure it out what's going on. If I'm not mistaken, the bottom sleeve panel is just wider on one sleeve. But it's quite a difference. Exactly 1 inch.

But it's a man made product so I guess flaws like that are bound to happen. And, TBH, if the jacket worked out fit-wise, I wouldn't mind it.

With that specific difference i woudn't be surprised if the underarm piece slipped in from a stack of cut pieces from a higher grading. When I ordered the last large 526PJ from Rivet and Hide a year or so ago they told me the it was actually a little larger than the general allowance, but it fits great and its kind of fun to have an oddball.

I actually just ordered a pair of jeans and the black/red work shirt UHF from IH, can't wait!

I picked up this LVC 1880s triple pleat blouse along with my Aero jacket. The Aero is now for sale, but this denim jacket turned out to fit perfectly. It is quite light at 9oz before washing, so it's wonderful for socal. I am beyond happy with this and it just makes me more sad that they are now outsourcing the production of this jacket.

The denim on the triple blouse is very nice, and the jacket is nicely put together, one of the best ever LVC piece imho. I sold mine as it was a tad too small/short but i am on the hunt for one in a bigger size.

After a severe disappointment with the IH storm rider I ordered the SE x IH 23 oz type III. Was thinking of lining it with a vintage poncho in the body and maybe some quilted nylon in the sleeves. All depends on the fit unlined. Something like this...maybe a brighter colored blanket/poncho but I’ve mocked it up with my 526PJ. Could be cool.

That's a great idea! And, I can assure you - it's a beautiful jacket. The only concern I have with lined jackets is that the materials behave differently when washed. Have you ever had an issue with that?

I got a hold of some lighter weight shearling to have someone make a real sheepskin lined type 3. I was going back and forth about just getting a Levi sherpa but I really don't like Levi's and this will be made with one of the last batches of yellow selvedge cone mills.
