They don't make'm like that anymore (mores the pity!)
I'm always happy when something I've been waiting for arrives by UPS, but how much my enjoyment would be enhanced if it came in one of those. But I wonder if I'd pay extra for the thrill.
Those art deco inspired vehicles are amazing, so different, so eye catching. Today's homogenised appearance seem even more bland by comparison. As a small boy, a school friend of mine, was lucky enough to have a father who had his own car transporting company. I clearly remember a rather attractive truck and semi trailer full of MG sports cars, my friend's Dad, or his drivers, used to transport the cars to the docks for export. Try as I might, I couldn't find a single picture of a truck load of such sports cars from that period, but I did unearth some more wonderful scenes from yesteryear. Not all art deco inspired though.
My current GMC pickup was purchased at Mayse Motor Co. (now in Aurora, Missouri if it is the same company). The background appears to show the Bus Barn where my brother-in-law works. It is a bit more modern now.
