I know! It's such a shame. Because of my age, I'll always think of him as the Hammer Horror Dracula...in the desert...sucking the life out of nazis.

To me he'll always be Lord Summerisle.

I - I don't believe it! THE Sir Christopher Lee... dead? I've grown up with SO many of his movies, that the thought is just.... I can't process it. Not to mention that my favorite reading of Poe's "The Raven" was his. :(

Rest in peace, good Sir, rest in peace. :(

Jazz saxophonist and composer Ornette Coleman has died.
One of the true innovators of the Bebop Jazz style.

What a day! I can't think of anytime we have lost so many famous people in a single day.

Another big loss for real country music. Grew up with, and love all his stuff. His songs he sang with his sisters, solo, with Helen Cornelius, all fantastic.

"Just a lonely bell was ringing in the little valley town. 'Twas farewell that it was singing to our good old Jimmy Brown. And the little congregation prayed for guidance from above. Lead us not into temptation, may his soul find the salvation of thy great eternal love"

Grand Ole Opry Star and newest member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Jim Ed Brown passed away today at 81.

Christopher Lee actually died Sunday morning (June 7th). Although Internet rumors were apparently circulated, the official announcement of his passing was delayed until family members were informed. But, yeah, it's unusual to hear of so many celebrity deaths on the same day.

Thinking back, I realized I've seen comparatively few of the movies Sir Lee starred or was featured in, but I can't recall ever thinking his performances were anything but perfect even if the movie wasn't particularly good.
