It is a difficult time to have neighbors that have no respect for others or the property of others. Poor people have poor ways is what a friends mom used to say. I have trailer park white trash next door now and they have a sense of entitlement, lack the concepts of not using your stuff with out permission, scream obscenities at each other in the front yard at all hours and leave trash all over. The kids leave their stuff all over the entire neighborhood.

One thing they cannot comprehend is if you take the trash out to the street on the day of the pick up (Tuesday Morning) but the trash truck has already come earlier, that the fact is the trash truck will not be by again to get what you have left out at the street until next Tuesday.

I don't know why it's so difficult for these people to understand whose property is whose and basic respect thereof. On a similar note as your mother, I came up with "trashy people have trashy habits." These freaks (who btw have so many guests -guests or um customers?- that it's like Grand Central around here) still drive through and park in my yard (the tire tracks in the snow are kind of an indication), leave kids' toys and trash in my yard, let their pit bulls wander without collars and leashes (but oh no they don't have dogs here!), and now steal stuff off my porch and leave some of it in my back yard. Have tons of pictures and have been keeping a journal, and my landlady is going to take it to her lawyer... The downside is if they do get evicted or busted for dealing drugs, I'll be the one to blame :(

Dear neighbours; Please give me a hand the next time when I fall because of the snow, instead of laughing...

There is a fading of polite society, in many places it no longer exists. The shift in values permiates TV shows for kids and advertising, I do not know the date to point at but part of the shift occured in Professional
Wrestling on TV. I was not a viewer at anytime but in the 1950's in professional wrestling there were Good Guys and Bad Guys. Now and for the past 20 years nearly all professional wrestlers have a bad guy persona they are Not noted for truth honesty but for treachery and and simply being bad. So the new heros for the lovers of TV wrestling are people I wouldn't want to be involved with. Same with Survivor where some people are applauded for being real snakes! A lot of TV has a insincerity, manipulation of others and similar style manuvering with self and self preservation revered above all else as the winning value.

I still remember a story about what a crummy city Detroit was and Is. A handicapped man, possibly in a wheel chair rolled off the subway platform onto the tracks and the first response by everyone on the platform was simply to burst out laughing. Not concern if the guy was hurt or the need to get him up and out of the way of any train that might be coming. Just Laughter.

It is said that a bad sign will be when the love of man becomes cold. Well in many places in this country it's colder than arctic ice right now.

Dear neighbors,

I know that you're a tavern, but bass bumping at 1:27 am so hard that it's rattling the lamp on my end table is a little much. Considering you're on the first floor next door, and I'm on the second. I also don't like having to go over there to ask your patrons to move their cars, and most recently snowmobiles, out of my driveway just so I can park my truck. Not to mention the fact that when I ask you nicely to have your patrons move your vehicles, you commence to chew me out about the fence I put up, because your patrons were urinating, vomiting, littering, and parking in my yard, not to mention attempting to urinate in the gas tank of my police car, because you don't like the county sherriff's department, which I am not associated with.

Practically Family
Unfortunately the "ME" generation grew up and some have now had children. The world revolves around the "ME Generation" and their wants, needs and desires. They are intolerant of others or their feelings or needs. It is the norm for many of this generation and others "be damned". The insensitivity of the "Me's" to other people is unbelievable, but it is a part of many in this new generation. These people have never matured emotionally, and as John pointed out many are now "the entitled" generation. In many ways we have lost the polite, kind and socially aware individuals of the past generation. What caused this can be debated for hours ----John
