Deadstock '30s-'40s shoes HERE

Forgive my intrusion, ladies, but I think that some of you might benefit from this. If you live in Los Angeles, California, and have small, narrow feet, today's your lucky day.


There's a thrift store in Atwater (south of Glendale, east of Silverlake) that has received a large donation of about 15 deadstock (never used) ladies' shoes from the 1930s and '40s.


These are leather and/or canvas and/or suede models: lace-ups, pumps, open toes, slingbacks, cuban heels, etc. Colors are light tan, butterscotch, darker brown, navy blue, and black. Some have cutouts, some have elastic (still supple), some have bows. All are in excellent condition.


The price? $25, which is quite decent for these shoes.


The catch? Nearly every shoe is a size 6 1/2 AAA or AA, which means narrow and on the smallish side. However ... if you're an L.A. gal who has such feet, then run to this shop. Good luck! It is:

Sounds like my big footed 8 year olds size. Hmmmm, my sister was talking about going to cali at the end of the week, they'd prob be gone by then though...grrr....she needs a pair of shoes to go with her pageant dress.

Eek, those shoes would fit me! But why oh why does my boyfriend have to be working today, and why oh why do I have to be so scared of getting on the freeway in LA?

I think I'm gonna have to pass these puppies up.

Thanks Marc for the tip! I went to Out of the Closet and picked up 3 pairs yesterday. It was a vintage shoe shoppers dream!
