I ran across a 1949 photo of Dallas. This image is a cropped section of that photo. It shows the 800 Jackson st location listed on the Davis Hat Company’s lettterhead but it also shows two other buildings with signs advertising hat companies. One located either at 750 Main Street or 751 Jackson street has a prominent banner on the top floor proclaiming “The Willard Hat Co” on the left and “The Davis Hat Co on the Right. The building has a water tower on the roof which could be an indication of manufacturing operations inside.

Across Jackson St, possibly 750 Jackson St, is a taller building with banners advertising several mercantile companies including one fo “Sargent Hat Co”.

The smaller building to the east is the 800 Jackson St Building shown in the Davis Hat Company letterhead.

800 Jackson St building still stands, 751 is a parking lot, 750 is a small park.

Looks like you found another nice wide brim.

The Davis The Alamo. After a couple days with a band block it fits perfectly.

6” open crown and 3 3/4” raw edge brim. I saw upthread that this hat also came with a bound edge. The felt is of medium quality reminiscent of a late 1950s Stetson 3X western: nice, but not real nice.
