From our US-centric perspective I think it might be hard for us to understand Akubra's actions, but many companies simply aren't interested in expanding into the US market significantly or at all.

I'm sure that Akubra would love to increase their orders in the USA. When they had two distributors here they probably sold more hats . Perhaps David Morgan could offer a wider selection of dress hats as this seems to be what people here are asking for.
