Why, that's Bond's hat!
Would anyone happen to know the approximate age of the hat box? I am curious if it is from the same time period as the hat

Thanks!

I picked this one up over the weekend at a vintage boutique in Nashville. (I don't usually buy hats at such places, preferring thrift stores and yard/estate sales, but, surprisingly, the price was right.) Anyone care to guestimate the age? I don't have a clue as I know the Dobbs company had been around a very long time and are still doing business. As you can see it looks in absolutely unworn condition. No wear or stains at all. The brim is a little stingier than I normally care for (I usually prefer around 3"), but it's my first with a center dent crown.

Hi,

Can anyone date this hat for me? Just purchased it on Ebay! Also, if anyone knows what time period the hat box is from, that would be helpful.

Thanks!

I found this Derby at a thrift store (didn't pick it up though) and just shot some pics because it looked interesting... any idea on age? Judging by the fraying on the bow I seem to remember seeing that was a style from the early 20th century. There was no liner in it. Sorry about the pic quality on the stamping my phone would not focus on the gold for some reason.

The stamp says something along the line of: John B. Stetson Co. something Prize 1900 Paris???? It was in really good condition and was questioning if I should have tried to pick it up if for no other reason than historical purposes to show grandchildren.

Rogera, they didn't come with liners. That one looks to be in really nice condition. Was the sweatband still soft? Just a guess, but maybe 1920's or 30's. If any paper labels remain behind the sweat, they would provide more clues. What size is it?

Should you buy it? Entirely up to you.

The liner was soft still. I was just surprised on how good its condition was. I thought it was just cool. I had never held a derby before and was surprised on its helmet like qualities. Beautiful piece of history. I greatly appreciate your help randooch!
