Dating Aldens?

A good friend of mine gave me a pair of Aldens last night that are pretty sweet. They're sand colored suede bluchers with cordovan quarters and caps. The logos inside say Alden, but it's not the current logo. Instead, the text is like this:

How old, roughly, are the shoes?

I don't know specific date.
But judging form the old logo, they must be 30 years old at the latest.

They look 70s with that wide punching and ring eyelets. The front toecap looks wide like 70s but not too wide for wearing now and who cares? They are fab and you will have a ball. The quality will be the high point - Alden are a great shoe IMHO....:eusa_clap

Why don't you send the pics to Alden themselves. I am sure they can date them.

I sent photos to Alden and they asked for the serial numbers printed inside the shoes. Gonna have to wait until I get the shoes back from the shoe repair shop on the 17th, but I intend to follow up once they're back in my hands.

Alden said they're early 1970s models.
