Here is a odd bird that recently ended on eBay:

Stifel was famous for their polka-dotted indigo-dyed cloth which was manufactured roughly from the late 1800's to about 1940. That fabric was generally used for workwear. This is the first time I've seen this particular Stifel fabric, and I've never seen any Stifel fabric used on a suit before this.
When do you guys think this suit was manufactured?

Interesting question. If the suit was Sanforized as the listing states it is, it would have to have been made some time after 1930,.according to this,.......http://www.fabrics.net/joan803.asp
Then it's got a button fly also, which would seem to indicate it's being manufactured some time prior to about 1945 or so when the zipper came into more common usage. But I'm no expert,...[huh]

Ok, when I first saw the coat, I thought early to mid 1950's, due to the skeleton lining, ventless, and the medium width lapels.

However, what is throwing me off are: the button fly, the weirdly wide belt loops, the pre-(or post)-1950's patch pockets, and the fact that the jacket is lined with it's own material.

If someone has a definitive answer, I would like to know.
