Well, that'd be about $450 now, but it's possible...I've got a few Botany ties, and they look good, but they're all made out of wool, which doesn't always tie easily.

Actually, I think it would be a bit more. Using a the average inflation rate for 1945-2008 (4.15%), a suit that cost $45.00 in 1945 would translate to about $583 today.

For the fellow geeks, I used the following values:
PV = 45, PMT = 0, N = 63, i/yr = 4.14, PV = compute

With my build I sometimes look better with more shoulders and chest built in, yet I still hunger for the fits of the 30s.

Can't wait to see the pics!

With my tall frame I seem to look better in 40s to early 50s clothes... but the early to mid 30s is my ideal.

I've been so bad at posting photos as of late, so little time in my day to really do much of that... I did take the photos, but they're still on the camera lol

Also, speaking of 30s, I did pick up a coat and a suit wile on Thanksgiving vacation in Tucson, the suit is from 1929 or 1930 I'd gage it, fancy back, double breasted, pleated patch pockets and a yoked back with pleats! This suit is EARLY! Also, a nice orphan fancy back coat with three pleats from the belt to the yoke in a V shape... also with pleated patch pockets and is a double breasted as well.

I'll start a different thread for those coats when I have the photos.
