Golly I'm Overwhelmed!!
WOW!!!
I have just spent I don't know how long reading over all of these get well wishes.
I am so overwhelmed! I wish I could take the time to thank each and every one of you for posting on this thread your well wishes, good thoughts, blessings and prayers. There are far too many of them and I'm the notorious babbler of the lounge so doing that might make the longest post ever recorded!!
So, I'm sending out one gigantic THANK YOU!! I appreciate every word that has been written here. They put a smile on my face and truly helped me to get through a tough and at some points scary time. It's truly amazing how just reading these posts made me feel so good. The best thing that someone can do for a person in need is to give a kind word. These kind words sometimes work better than any medicine (well except for the massive amounts of dilauded and methadone they have me onlol), for medication fixes a physical problem, but words help soothe the soul and mind. They helped me to keep a good head on my shoulders, they have given me strength, they brought a calming effect over me, which in turn helped me feel so much better.
I'm so very glad to be home, in my own bed, without doctors and nurses waking me up at 4am to check in on me. I'm feeling a lot better, and I go to the doctor on Tuesday for a check up. I still have a bit of a road ahead of me, and there is still the possibility of another surgery. But, I have a great team of doctors who really don't want it to come to that. They are doing everything in their power to treat this Crohn's flare with high dose steroids and antibiotics in the hopes that this will bring it and the infection under control. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and I'm very optimistic.
I also just want to add a public thank you to Hemingway Jones. Hem is an incredible guy, and he is my best friend. For the 15 days I was in the hospital, Hem was there every day. Every day after work he would pack up his dinner and come to the hospital. He would stay for hours, usually until my nurses kicked him out. He sat with me while I slept. He called for the nurse when I needed him/her. He brought me books, and movies, and when I could finally have liquids he brought me my favorite Italian ices. He calmed me down if the pain got bad, he told me stories of what was going on in the outside world. Hem, you made my stay in the hospital so much better. I can't thank you enough for all of the support you gave me, and for listening to me bitch and moan when I started to get antsy and wanted out! A better friend couldn't be had. You are one of a kind, and I am truly blessed to have a man of your character in my life THANK YOU!!
Well, to everyone thank you too!!! Again, your kind wishes really helped me to get through this time! You all have always been such a great support to me every time I've had to go into the "spa" (that's a nicer name for the hospital!).. Some of you I have met, others I haven't, but either way, you all are true friends, and I appreciate this community so very much.
All of my best to everyone, and thank you, thank you, thank you
