I too love the visual aspect of the D-pocket jackets but I hate that it has only 1 hand warmer pocket. For me it's important to have 2 handwarmer pockets. Can't imagine strolling around on a cold evening with only one hand in a pocket...must be mighty uncomfortable. I plan to order a custom made jacket from Alexander Leathers tomorrow. My own design based on the Aero J106 but with no Bi-swing back (I prefer a slimmer look) so I have asked for their 4 -pocket Roadster back (only the top shoulder section) no waist belt and no loops but instead 2 side cinches on either side, 2 slanted hand warmer pockets and 1 slanted breast pocket. Here is my photoshopped version of the jacket.

I happened to be in Johnson Leathers a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately they happened to be
having one of their two yearly sales (around xmas and during their anniversary month of June).
Even more unfortunately they suddenly have a d-pocket offering. Apparently the design was
contractually limited to a Japanese vendor until quite recently. The jackets currently in stock are
made from a really nice ~3 ounce Horween horsehide (not chromexcel, which is fine by me).
The lining is a new thing for them, a super strong nylon weave designated by the Japanese market
and now available here. Smooth, crinkly, and destined to last forever. Oh and the price? Less than
half that of Aero or any of the other guys, even after they tailored the sleeves. Here's mine, in brown.
Apologies- I always seem to take the worst pictures on this board.

Let me add that it's pretty odd that Photobucket lets you rotate pictures, but this is not reflected in the resultant URLs.

Given the price of these jackets and how nicely they fit... how can I stop at one?

Great pick up..is that horsehide stiff and heavy? That looks like a keeper.

I'll get some better pix up soon. You can't tell how it fits from that.
It's fairly heavy, but lighter than the Aero I have or my first Johnson
(http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?35355-Johnson-Leather-jacket&p=709405&viewfull=1#post709405).
It's soft - not at all stiff- and with the action back is immediately easy to wear, but is definitely tough.
Certainly noticeably heavier than my Good Wear A-1 in capeskin.

But that Horween horse is in short supply, so new jackets will be made with something else.

That's a sweet one Feltfan!
I love the D pocket, but I don't think I can pull off the offset zipper look.
I wish there were options available with a center zip style. The only one I've seen was the Missabe from Superior Flight Apparel- which I believe is no longer available :-(
