Cute Vintage-y Shoes

Just got these today --

BAMshoe.jpg

They're a reproduction of the shoes worn by women Marines in WW2, put out by a re-enactors' outfitter called Vintage Ordnance, and fill a real need for a period-correct pump with a properly-shaped Cuban heel. I got these on eBay for $85 -- and am very pleased. They're leather, with man-made soles, and look to be about the same quality as you get from Re-Mix, at half the price.

What size did you get, Lizzie, and how did the fit compare to your normal size?

Unfortunately they were much too big and I had to return them :(
I am usually a solid 9, but as 9.5 was the only size close to that in stock, I decided to try it out-- but alas, I couldn't walk in them without my feet coming out, even with a thick foot pad added! They were so gorgeous in person, though. My mother, who is NOT a shoe person at all, even said they were worthy of display on the bookshelf! Just don't order up a size.

Oh, and Trashy Diva (where I ordered mine) marked them down to $65, if you're a size 7.5! They also have Remixes and other Irregular Choice shoes on major sale right now; definitely worth checking out!

You are amazing <3 too bad i'm a size 8-8.5 :/ haha so sad they didn't fit you! :( they truly are beautiful shoes.

I got them in 10, which is what most of my shoes are, and they seem to fit true to size. I often have trouble with pumps slipping at the back, but these have a nice secure fit without pinching. The toe box is also good and roomy -- a lot of modern shoes these days, even vintage styles, have a very shallow toe area, but these don't.

I have these
SL273971.jpg
and normally wear 9 to 91/2
US size.I have UK 6 in RO and they fit great. I found them on eBay late last fall so I haven't worn them too much,
waiting till the snow melts.
Of course I'm admiring these

and several others now that you've reminded me.

Those are the 2 I am coveting. Great choice!

I love those! I have a clone pair in Taupe from Soft Styles by Hush Puppies that are exactly the same. The style is called "Lorna." Super duper comfy too! The only difference is that Soft Styles makes them in a few more colors than Valley Lane but the price is soooo nice on the Valley Lane style.

Thet look exactly alike! Soft Styles also has this Mary Jane (Abrid) http://www.shoemall.com/assets/product_images/styles/large/134186BRN1Z.jpg Looks like it would fit like the Lorna.

These too! cheaper AND more colors.http://www.cowardshoe.com/product/Shop-By-Brand/Beacon/Beacon-Lisa/pc/1063/c/1084/34959.uts

I got these Anne Klein navy Mary Janes, hoping they'd feel more vintage than they actually do. The strap is lower on my foot than I feel like it should sit, and the toes aren't as rounded as they seemed in the original photos. I still like them, but I don't love them like I wanted to.

...maybe someone can help me: I like this Aris Allen mesh oxford shoes ( http://www.dancestore.com/Aris-Allen-White-1940s-Mesh-Oxford/productinfo/2829-WH/ ), but I´m not sure which size to order. I didn´t get a reply from the dancestore so maybe one of you already bought already a pair of these? "Run true to size" is not very helpful, all I know is that I need shoes with a inner sole measurement of 10,5 inches or a little bit more? Would that be size 9 or 9,5? Thank you :)

Maybe this will help. This site carries Aris allen, and has a measurement chart.

Thanks :) But the size chart is only for the wedges right? But that´s a good link anyway...and the wedges look cute, too ;-)
I think it is for all their shoes. The mesh ones run "True to size" so if you went by that chart it would be a good
indicator.
