Gals who are wearing loafers or whatever with socks (like white cuffed socks, not stockings) and skirts/dresses -- what kind of socks are you wearing & where are you getting them?

I always get mine from kids departments! Plain white fold-over tops, packs of three for little girls or boys! The largest size is usually fine for an adult woman.

Non-heeled loafers

I've been looking at photos of women in WWII at the shoes. Frankly, I've spent 99% of my life not wearing heels, and they're just not safe in Seattle winter weather. It looks like a decent thick/wedged-sole flat loafer would work. I'm mainly going off these photos:

and

It looks like they were both laced and slip-on. So... Would these probably work? http://www.shoemall.com/product/Ros-Hommerson-Womens-Jake-Oxford-Grey-136002/
BTW, I just adore Ros Hommerson for my wide feet and large calves. They're great.
Thanks

Those are really cute I would love to know what you think when you get them. I have a pair of Mary Jane aerosoles I got a thrift store and they are comfortable for about 3 hours then the start to pinch.

Gah! What am amazing shoe storage idea! I'm stealing it...

And of course, with a shoe wardrobe like that, I obviously have to shop to fill it with the same amount of fabulous shoes. ::wink::

I'd need 3 of them... I have an addiction... but atleast it's a fun addiction!!!

They are super cute! I will say they are a little higher than I usually wear. I had them on about 4 hours-mainly standing and they were getting achy for sure. So they may not be good for all day standing unless you're used to 3 inches, but walking, sitting, etc they are great. I do better with about 2 1/2 inches or so.

I went a mall the other day specifically to find some heels for the fall and bought these at Sear's of all places. They were on sale for 30$. I think they'll be good for 30s and 40s looks, though it was the scalloping detail that sold me!

I don't go to malls or even chain stores very often (the nearest mall is about three hours from my house...) and I was shocked and happy to see how many vintage-looking shoes were out there. I guess they must be very "in" right now, because all the department stores and shoe stores had plenty of heeled oxfords and t-straps. I'm actually happy they've become so popular so I can get 'em cheap!

Wow, I really can't compete with those birdcage shoes or that glamorous armoire, but I did spend $5 at Goodwill today, on these

They are from Andre Assous, and correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they have a 40's-50's feel to them?
