Customs inspection damage?

Learned through the DHL website that shipment insurance does not cover damage done by a Customs official. Also I received the DHL invoice for duties and it is based not on the item total, but on the total amount billed including shipping.
Next time I will skip the insanity and buy domestic.

That's what customs do I'm afraid. It does seem like a rip off to be charged on shipping but they all do it. I used to buy a fair bit of stuff from the US and other parts of the world wherever it was cheaper than the UK but the duty and tax makes it not worth while anymore.

The bizarre thing is that being charged the duty/tax or not is purely down to luck (in the UK). As I posted elsewhere, my last four parcels from the US - three with NO duty and one with duty. Wierd. An a little unfair:(:(

I am delighted to report my jacket is repaired and back in my possession! The repair was done at Insurrection, and they achieved a repair exceeding my expectations (and I am one accustomed to inspecting with a microscope). Aero and Insurrection both have magnificently mended this issue, and made everything right in very reasonable time. I am most grateful, and can praise their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

This next one is a bad self-portrait, I can create a better one tomorrow with help.

How did they go about making the repair? Did they remove and replace the pocket flap, or cut into the seam and replace the snap?

It looks like the holes from the stitching, they have kinda stretched after the folding. Its normal.

Yes, and being on a wear point, they will pretty soon break.

I don't want to make an issue of it. If you guys are happy with that quality stitching, then cool.

Just normal stitching, still recessed somewhat, only exaggerated by the contrast of dark finished seal leather against the lighter raw leather where the needle punched through.
