Hi
So I know not to expect too much from having Zillleatherjackets that I found on Etsy but they got 4.8 Stars from 71 Customers.
I sent a picture of of a Schott Style 602 Police jacket to Hammand and he said he could make it from Horsehide at 1.6oz Horsehide in Black for $300.00 Delivered to USA from Pakistan. I usually only buy Made in USA Leather Jackets but my size is 52 and almost Impossible to find that jacket in my size. And the ones I see for sale go for $400 and Up. And is Used condition.
From the Pictures he post on Etsy of the Style Jackets he Makes look Very Nice. He uses YKK Heavy Zippers. I get to pick color and type lining. I will post pictures after I receive the jacket. What you fellow members think?
Thank You
Peter

Hello
Thank You for your reply. so I sent him a diagram of the jacket with all my measurements and the measurements I've taken off of another Schott 602 that I used to own but sold years ago I saved the measurements because I thought maybe I would have Schott custom make the jacket but by talking to them it would cost over $1000 for them to make it I don't expect much but doing some Research on the company it looks like they are very good at copying original designs from other leather jacket manufacturers it'll be very close like I said I'll post some pictures and I'll let you know the differences thank you very much I hope we will speak again

Did you check with Johnson leathers to see what they could do?

Okay, I think I found it literally the first two listings that appear on Etsy search are stolen images of jackets by Fine Creek leathers. I'm not even looking any further and all I can tell you is to avoid at all costs!

I haven't followed the thread in quite some time, so I don't know if they can match your specs of a size 52 jacket in 1.6oz horsehide for $300, but if you're considering a maker from Pakistan have you looked at Five Star? At 200+ pages they've been vetted out here rather extensively on this forum.

Johnson Leather is a great domestic choice but I would suspect your cost would probably be closer to 2x - 2.5x.

$200 $300 is a normal price of a better made leather jacket here in my country too. There are the $100-$200 too but they use thin sheep, smelly goat, and plasticy cow (pigmented split) and the panels are typically too busy obviously to maximize the use of the hide to the last scraps. If they show their own product picture you can judge if the maker is a tailor or just someone who just try to make money.

Five Star can make you a Cal Style SCHOTT JD-1 for around the same money

Hi
Thank You for your help on my post.
Like I said for $300.00 I don't expect much but I see in his pictures and reviews he does good work.
I see so many Videos on You Tube on People the make and sell leather jackets in Pakistan . Pakistan seems to be where they process or tan leather.
