Well, I don't call taxation a burden; as Oliver Wendell Holmes said, "I like paying tax, with it I buy civilisation" - roads, services, hospitals, libraries, a welfare safety net, etc.

If you're after a tough Indy jacket but the Gibson and Barnes in goat. It isn't cheap, but it'll last a lifetime.

Was thinking the same myself.
I have one. Very nice Indy jacket.
They will make them "custom" to your measurements.....for an extra fee. And I believe they are non-returnable at that point..so if you go that route, be sure of what you want. I'd recommend having them send out one of their standard sized jackets and figure out where where you want to go from there.

Wested in the U.K. makes a very nice customized Indy jacket in a variety of hides with many custom options. They have decent prices for a jacket made exactly to one's specs and measurements.

That's easy for you to say you're at 30%

;)

Just to prevent potential disappointment to any budding migrants; anything up to $80,000 is 30%, but $80,001 to 180,000 is 37% and $180,000+ is 45%. Still not as bad as your top bracket of 50% admittedly, but it does kick in at a much lower income level.

Just to keep this marginally on topic if I was going for an Indy I'd get goat, almost as soft as lamb but much tougher. I agree with the sentiment that a more expensive, higher quality jacket is much better value, as the good ones will last a lifetime.

Agreed. I scored my worn-once Wested Raiders in goat for well under half the new price. It's ideal as a light, Summer jacket for kicking about in, but if I'd wanted a wear-anywhere, last-forever Indy, spending more is the way to go. I'd love to see one of the Aero takes on it in person - while I know the few they have done have been in FQHH and so won't drape like the film jacket (for those to whom that matters), the quality will be outstanding. I'm sure a well broken-in Aero horse jacket would really have a superb adventurer look.
