Gotcha, I agree 100% very fair, thats why I offered 25$ off the bin an that did itAgreed. I’ve been looking for a CHP with a chest pocket to mix it up. That said, I do like a horizontal pocket. Just more appealing to me. Partly why I limped in and didn’t just hit BIN (which IMO was very fair BTW).
When they used an offer option it implies they are willing to take lessGotcha, I agree 100% very fair, thats why I offered 25$ off the bin an that did it

For sure. I will put more pics an feedback righthere when it arrivesYep. That’ll do it bro. I look forward to your take on the jacket. We are pretty close on preferences and what we look for in a jacket.
nice buffer with the fur, I think on a cross zip with collar that meet at the base, when the lapel is spread the collar fold would change position, and make a huge neck gap when worn half zipped. This is the first and only jacket I bought locally. For some reason Dutch men don't appreciate nice leather jackets. There are 0 stores in the Netherlands that sell nice leather jackets and you won't spot someone on the street wearing one. So how did I find this one? A guy was selling lots of motorcycle gear on our local online marketplace and this CHP style jacket stood out. Not because of the leather or the build quality -photos were too vague to be able to tell- but simply because of the style, it's an American style jacket so I figured it must be American made. The seller was located only 20 minutes from here so I decided to go and see the jacket in person.

When the seller -a young guy in his twenties- opened the door I could alread spot the jacket hanging on the coat rack behind him. My jaw dropped to the floor, a saw a beautiful vibrant black jacket with tons of grain. I didn't even bother trying it on or inspecting it, I simply told the seller I was happy to take it off his hands and gave him €50 (his asking price was 30). Quickly before he changed his mind lol.
When I got home I realized what a gem it really was. Very well made and in great condition. Best thing, it was my size! Unfortunately it didn't have a maker's tag. There was a tag but it only said 'real hide made in great Britain'. I was wondering how such a beautiful jacket ended up in the Netherlands, I decided to contact the seller and ask. That's when he told me the jacket was his uncle's who used to be a motorcycle cop and this was his off duty riding jacket (official Dutch police mc gear is produced by a Dutch manufacturer called 'Damen'. Nothing special in terms of style or quality)

As you can see the jacket was a pretty good fit apart from the neckhole which was huge. Since it already had snaps in place for a mouton collar, I decided to have the jacket upgraded with a nice russet or honey brown collar. Also, the gussets needed to be fixed because they were bulging out.
My local tailor is great at what he does with my suits and shirts but I'm not sure whether I trust him with my leather jackets. Luckily I know someone in Scotland who's very good at making leather jackets and I'm glad he was willing to take on the job.
Together with the CHP I sent Greg three old ladies fur coats to be used as donors for the mouton.

Greg first made a test collar out of cloth so he could tweak the pattern to perfection.

He installed a couple of elastic bands to keep the gussets in place. He had to use heavy duty ones because the gussets were extremely saggy.

Long story short, Greg did an excellent job. Absolute perfection.

End result. I could not be happier. This is one badass CHP jacket.

I think he made the collar like this because my jacket has the collar snaps on the inside:nice buffer with the fur, I think on a cross zip with collar that meet at the base, when the lapel is spread the collar fold would change position, and make a huge neck gap when worn half zipped.

Thanks. I agree, if I could only have three jackets it would be this one, my Thedi crosszip and the Windward halfbelt.Marc you look like a rock star in these pics, this jacket has attitude in spades man. Hard to say with your great collection but this might be your best, coolest look yet.
It took me a day to figure out what you mean lol, but now I get it I never noticed the difference before.nice buffer with the fur, I think on a cross zip with collar that meet at the base, when the lapel is spread the collar fold would change position, and make a huge neck gap when worn half zipped.
