Crooked hats

I've noticed that I see a lot of people wearing teardrop fedoras, but the point of the teardrop isnt aligned with their nose. And they arent wearing it intentionally crooked either. Whats the reason for this? Is this intentional by the hat maker, or do they have weirdly shaped heads?

I have also read about the styling of the 1930s, wearing the pinch over your eye was a thing. This image of Slats Gill, from 1935 shows this style, my custom from NW hats is creased to emulate this.

Part of the reason for this is that very few people's faces are symmetrical enough for their noses to actually be centered on their faces; if they buy a pre-creased hat, odds are that the pinch will be off at least a little. Speaking from personal experience, the pinch on my hats should be about half an inch to the right of center (my right, that is) if I want it to line up with my nose. Initially I creased my open-crown hats that way, but over time the pinch on each of them has migrated to the left (i.e. back to center, even though the hats had never previously been creased). It bothered me when I first started wearing hats, but now I couldn't care less.
