used to be widely available, but I haven't seen it in years!
But if you do find some, don't forget, it is not an antiperspirant, so don't use it with your vintage clothes - even unscented sweat is very bad for them. I used to think deodorant was enough, and one of my vintage dresses completely rotted away at the armpits from the sweat.

Tussy

I was hoping Secret still made it; I was vintage even as a teen and the little jar was so cool! But, no.
Tussy still makes it http://www.medshopexpress.com/172973.html Not a vintage jar but you could transfer it. Walgreen's used to stock it and just might still have some around; I usually find good stuff on their clearance shelves.
Avon still makes Liquid Deodorant in the cute bottle, if that's any help.

Or be sure to use dress shields. I use anti-perspirant/deodorant and I still have to use shields with many of my vintage items.

May I ask which type you use Kitty as the ones I purchased recently don't seem to stick so well on garments with sleeves that aren't really closely fitting?

There's this thing called Google ;) ...and if you type in CREAM DEODORANT you get things like :)

among others. Your post made me wonder if it was still available. The only time I'd seen it was cleaning out my grandmother's apartment after she died back in the early 70's.

I've never even heard of creme deodorant. I usually just use a spray. Is this better than the spray kind?

Don't buy disposable stick-in ones. Save yourself the money. I get Kleinert's shields and buy the washable, pin-in ones, which have the pins sewn onto the shield. They make regular ones, ones for short sleeves, ones that attach to your bra... tons of different types. It just depends on your preference. I do have some dresses with sleeves that are too short, even for the short-sleeved models. Also keep in mind that pin-in shields don't work for garments that don't have a set-in sleeve, as the shield has to pin to the seam allowance in the sleeve. With these types of dresses, you can use stick-in ones or the type that attach to your bra.

I remembered Arrid after I remembered Tussy but I forgot to look it up. As I recall it was in a white glass jar?
jayem, not that it's neccessarily better than spray but it's I liked it when i used it and it's vintage. ;)
I get my dress shields at JoAnn's when they have a 50% off notions promotion. I wish the ladies who owned some of my clothes before I had used them. Old funk stinks, it's the pits.

Ashley, Arrid no longer comes in a white glass jar(I wish!), its white plastic with a metal lid.But oh well, at least the product is somewhat vintage!

I say use products because they work, not just because they're "vintage".

Okeh, then, I'm throwing out all my clothes and replacing them with sweat suits, for a start.

That's not the point I was trying to make and you know it! Doesn't apply to clothes anyway, since most vintage clothes work better (are more flattering AND better quality) than newer clothes anyway.

I mean, we don't use Lysol to douche with anymore just because it's vintage, do we?

I know, you know I was joking. It's fun using vintage when possible. Isn't that why we're here?
By the by, douching isn't good no matter what is used, we all know that. Since I'm here, didn't that Lysol ad prove to a made-up one, like the Eat Lard ad that goes around? I'm not arguing, I simply thought I saw somewhere that it's a fake and am hoping someone can clear up my confusion.
