Groan. The only way my girlfriend and daughter can get me to the beach is by making sure I have a chair, umbrella, beer, book and a ukulele. This is a song off my first cd.

The hat is one of my favorites: an early 50s (?) Barbisio in brown with a brown ribbon with a back bow. 2 1/4" brim, rolled over and top stitched. The crown is about 5 3/4" open.

The ukulele is a 30's Johnny Marvin Tenor with the airplane bridge.

It takes me back as my grandmother played the uke and I had forgotten the sweet sound they make.

There is a great Huell Howser video where he goes to Orange County I think and visits a place where they teach How to play Ukeleili and after the lesson the students then practice a variety of songs. It is a real hoot.

Now if we could just get Huell to wear a hat.
