Those are good looking boots, glad none of them even come close to my size. The sole construction does seem to be the same as my much later ones so your hypothesis about the carry over from LA days seems to be correct Greg. I may start to appreciate it now.

There have been a couple of black labels used over the years but the most common was used from a period of the 70's to late 80's early 90's when the boots were US made. Here's a little info that came from a discussion about this awhile ago.

Ups just delivered my "new" boots. Ebay purchase old west by frausa. Made in spain. Hope they fit, he had a buy it now at $80. I offered $50 & he accepted. Free shipping, they look like new. Blue ! I love colored boots. Geo

A newbie here, and I'm not sure if this is the right place!

I'm looking for a sort of boot, not sure what to call them, not a classic Cowboy boot or Engineer Boot or English Riding boot... but a plain brown knee-high boot, ordinary rounded toe, ordinary low-ish heel, no straps or buckles or ornamentation. I think I've heard them called Campus boots? Anyway the challenge is that I wear US 14 (or if the shoes run small, 15). There's obviously a huge amount of boot knowledge here and I'm hoping somebody can steer me in the right direction. Thanks!
