I have settled on what is known as a 3/4" (squared-off point) toe. But I hasten to add that I have an E width foot, so to accommodate my width the pointy toe boxes have to be l-o-n-g and can get in the way--literally.

Since we are talking about 3/4 toes, I'll show off my custom Christmas present that Santa at Falconhead/TresOutlaws sent to me recently. The matching 1.5" belt just arrived too. Pardon my bragging, but I think they are magnificent.

Merry Christmas all!

You're right they are magnificent, any chance of getting that Santa to drop off a pair up here in Canada(haha)again nice boots Tip Top

I still find "pointier" boots comfortable. I'm 51, and have 13 D foots. Sometimes I need to go to a 14 but that's the same for shoes. All depends on make and model. Wear what you like guys. I don't knock other's choices in boots. I just prefer mine that way.

I agree with your statement, wear what you are comfortable with wearing. And in no way would I desire to say anything to "put down" anyone else for what they wear and or enjoy. I know I cannot wear the pointed toe boots and it is fine with me. I do not think personally that they have no use or should not be worn. Hope you know I would respect anyone's choice of foot ware.

Merry Christmas all!

Beautiful kicks, my friend.

I had a pair made by Tres Outlaws about 7 years ago and I loved them. Mine were pretty basic compared to yours, but had the same toe and heel combo. The fit was spot on and they were light as a feather compared to some of my other boots.

Enjoy and merry xmas.

I know. All good! Seem folks deride the pointy boots as fashion only, or poser, etc., which I find humorous. Like I said, I grew up in the real world of boot wearers and workers and while many prefer a round toe, I have and wear both. My dad and uncle, still running ranches, prefer rounded. I guess California got to me :)

Geez now those are a whole lotta boot! I was looking at some tall real old west boots on a website perhaps a month or so ago...good ones and they were not a cheap price at all. Aside from the tall shafts of these boots that you have to deal with, I can tell by just looking at them they have to be fairly comfortable to wear, nice supportive soles, made like a brick s....house....(lol)! another wonderful item you are selling that is too small for me...drats! If these were a 11E, well, second mortgage and I'd own them!

Wow those are gorgeous!!! Gotta admit, I've worn western boots most of my life and I like the points, they've got to have heels as well. I am partial to the look of the short vintage boots with squared toes (like old Acme's) but since no-one really makes those any more (they should) the point is purely theoretical.

Thanks for putting these up. I have a similar, but less-detailed, pair that I purchased new from CABOOTS Champion Attitude Boots Co. for next to nothing (they were in the Sale Room). I had them put on a rubber sole so that I could wear them motorcycling and they did a nice, low-profile job, but it took forever. Thankfully, it was mid-winter, about a year ago, and I bugged the guy monthly until they finally arrived here in May. They seem to specialize in drama boots--literally for theater, movies, re-enectment types and yes, even SANTA CLAUS boots!

Mine are civil war officer boots and have the knee flap, but are perfectly comfortable under jeans as well as on my feet. In fact, they have a pair that look like yours but no stars.

They didn't start out being Christmas boots, but they sure make the grade. Mad Dog Goat Lucchese Classics with cacti inlays; and they are not as ruby in person--more a deep cherry red. Always a smile when my pant leg rides up...

Merry Christmas all.

Hi guys, hope you can help me out. Looking to get my first pair of cowboy boots, er actually, ropers, I think. Have looked around quite a bit (not actually tried anything on, since I'm in Japan, and nobody does my size) and I think I'd like a pair of ropers with round or square toes (i.e. not strongly pointed). Also think I'd like them in brownish roughout leather.

What do you all think of the RRL Ridgeway Ropers? They meet my specs, and I believe they're decent quality, made by Rios of Mercedes.

http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/quarter/item/10000930/

I've seen them pop up on the bay every now and again for around $250. Seems like a good price.

Any other ideas? I am looking for something without the frills. These are also to my liking.

Ishmael,

I don't know if you'd have access to Justin boots in Japan, but would this style be along the lines of what you're looking for?
