The finer things in life? I can't imagine anything finer than an elixir of life. A fighting chance to continue living. My little corner of the world has done a pretty good job with putting shots in arms. The latest is that we are now in the phase where bus drivers, restaurant workers, marijuana growers, baby sitters......are getting vaccinated. In other parts of The Country, there's a controversy over teachers being eligible. We have already vaccinated school employees including teachers, cafeteria workers, janitors, school secretaries.... I got my 1st shot at the beginning of the month. The 2nd shot happens at the beginning of next month.

How is the "vaccine rollout" working in your part of The World? Is anybody refusing vaccination?

Only some are RNA vaccines others are old tech like the flu vaccines we’ve been using for years, based on attenuated adenovirus with relevant bits of COVID-19 stuck on.
The answer to the main part of your question is that you’re quoting the average survivability rate for the total population. Sections of the population have much lower survivability rates eg over 80’s those with serious underlying medical conditions etc. For them it’s a simple risk assessment- choose vaccination or accept the high likelihood of dying if they contract COVID-19.

Because it is pretty selfish not to. Even if you are walking around with no symptoms, you might be passing the virus on to people in our community who are vulnerable.

because:
a) the survivability rate among vulnerable persons (elders, diabetics, obese, hiv+, cancer patients, autoimmune diseased, etc) is much lower. I happen to care about them and I don't want to blame for their death.
b) also healthy people die or suffer extended damage to their health due to the virus and I happen to like being healthy.
c) if we don't get vaccinated then the lockdowns will continue, with disastrous results in the already damaged world economy and collective mental health.
d) if we don't get vaccinated we will all probably get the virus; if you assume a 2-week absence from work per average then I guess you can understand what this means in financial terms.
e) as said above you also get the option of a "traditional" vaccine.
f) if we don't get vaccinated then the health systems around the world will at best stay as they are today (normal medical examinations delayed or cancelled) or probably collapse. I wouldn't like to die because of an appendix or something that with normal health care is not fatal.

How many actually died of COVID? 6% maybe. Hospitals and Doctors were paid significantly more to label any illness or accident COVID related. Every Time a COVID positive test was submitted it was tagged as a New Case, even if a Positive person was tested 10x, that's actually one person and one case, NOT TEN CASES. Survivability Rate for 70 and above is 96%? or something close. AGAIN unless you want old frail people in Nursing Homes to Die you DON'T put Full Blown COVID cases in Nursing Homes like the Governors of NY, CA, MI, PA, and NJ did. Thats Murder.

You can spread it if you're A Symptomatic, also they were running the PCR test at a greater number until they hit positive. You could have a small amount of dead virus, but run it enough cycles you get a positive test. ALSO how many Gnats does a chain link fence keep out? All Doctors should know a mask does NOT protect from viruses PERIOD. It even says it on the box of the Best Masks available. Its all fear porn. Read the 2009 and 2015 SARS/COVID Mask Studies and findings, also read the latest study on the 1918 Spanish Flu, 75% of the deaths weren't from Spanish Flu, they were from Bacterial Pneumonia caused by masks. YOU HAVE TO USE COMMON SENSE PEOPLE.
ALSO HYDROXICHLOROQUINE was tagged as "DANGEROUS" by the CDC, NIH, AMA, JAMA, WHO, strangely on Jan 20, 2021 they removed their FAKE WARNING, and changed it to "A Preferred Treatment". HCQ has been used safely for over 60 years, they lied. Do your research, maybe try to find videos and articles that were banned and removed by Youtube, and Google, like Front Line Doctors and many others because they were telling the TRUTH all along, all the way back to March 2020.

Nobody allowed me to choose the flavor. I received notification that I was eligible. My option was to not report for vaccination. When I got there, nobody even bothered to tell me which vaccine was going in my arm. I asked. The nurse was speechless. She froze in her tracks.....literally stopped and froze with the syringe in mid air hovering over my arm. It took a few seconds. After she overcame the shock of someone actually asking, "Moderna. Why? Do you still want it?" Now my choice was to refuse. If I refused, then they would have charted that I refused. There would not be another offer. Nobody was going to look for another brand of vaccine, and call me when it came in. I was told by the same nurse that Moderna was what they had at that location. The federal government sent it to the state government. The state sends it to the county. The doctors and nurses at the clinics simply inject whatever came off the truck.

I weighed my options. A disease has been killing people across the world. Medicine is usually studied for years, before it is approved. And now, we have vaccines which got "emergency approval" in a few months. There are known deaths associated with these drugs. It may not even work, and I could die. Bill Gates could be using it to track me. It may be a hoax, and this is how the government is forced sterilizing my people to commit global genocide, so that my race dies off without further reproduction. This is all a scam to enrich "big pharma". The Holocaust didn't happen. 9/11 was a staged event. Elvis isn't really dead. US presidents hold no power, and are only puppets controlled by Wall Street Bankers. Fake raisins are in Raisin Bran. Wendy Williams is transgender. John Travolta is really a bald guy with a wig. It all depends on your personal choice of belief. Otherwise it's all "fake news". The human mind sees what it wants to. How can it be exactly 500,000? Such an even, round number. Not 487,976 or 590,385? And where is the 6% number coming from? 6% of what?

My teams have vaccinated over 100,000 people in the last three months. We had four (non fatal) cases of anaphylaxis and one person die in a car crash leaving the vaccination site. I mention the latter because it was entered in VAERS as a possible ‘side-effect’.

Before this thread gets shut down as a political argument, I'd like to mention that for some of us in higher population zones who really want the vaccine, it's not so easy to get so far.

I am over 65 and a prostate cancer patient... and I have no idea when I'll get a shot. The chain drug stores here giving the vaccine have no appointments available, they're booked months ahead. The huge medical group most of my doctors are affiliated with has received zero doses, and they don't expect to anytime soon. None of the New York State-run vaccination centers are even accepting appointments as of now. I'm on the list for Dutchess Country, which received 1,200 doses last week... and randomly selected who'd get it out of 53,000 eligible candidates!

Anyway, it's really frustrating.
