The Music Box! Love it.
^ very nice. What lining?
It was. With the collar i was just wondering if it was set up as a full winter rig.
It absolutely is. My better half was going to take shots for me, but it's been such a busy time, I decided to just see what I could do on my own. Thanks. Its so difficult to show how it fits sometimes with selfies - I find myself almost always disappointed with the results of trying to get the right pose in the mirror, correct lighting and then the one hand is holding the phone, head cocked at a weird angle, etc. I am not criticizing your selfie skills but I think in this case the pics probably don't do the jacket justice. If it feels good you look good - only you know for sure!
What hide are these jackets? They look great.Hey, welcome.
To me it looks too big in the lats/chest area, gives you a bit of a flying squirrel look, but it looks good in the waist.
The Bootlegger is already a large jacket for its tag size (24.5" pit to pit on a size 40!) so if you ordered your regular size and added width on top of that i am not surprised it feels huge.
Getting a custom fit where you go a size down but ask for the bottom hem to be similar to this one might be your best option.
Length looks good, IMO riding is more to do with how Aero cuts their patterns than length, mine are short and they ride more than average when raising arms or driving.
Saying all that it is not a bad fit by any means, it could be tighter IMO, but it does not look bad.
Here are pics of mine, definitely not a fitted jacket, but not as big as yours, the straps are halfway tight (personally if i had to tighten the straps all the way in i would consider the jacket too large for me):
They are both size 40, i am a 42 in Aero cafe racer and a 42 in 95% of brands
@ton312 has been elected "King of the Bootlegger" and he got an even better fit than mine...

I just decided what I wanted out of a Bootlegger was a more fitted look, rather than it being a cold weather layering jacket.
And so it begins. I too have walked this path.

The jacket was a goner the moment this thought first occurred to you, long before you sat down and started this thread...I do appreciate it guys, but I don't agree. I think the extra inch and a half around isn't doing me any favors for what I want out of the jacket. Besides, I think it's a little long.
I am not a guy who orders custom sized jackets rather I buy vintage jackets and custom sized jackets others ordered and sold off them at 50% of buy-in, so in general I not as focused on an inch here or there as others might be. If I get a jacket that appeals to me other than a slight fit issue, I will wear the jacket for a couple of weeks on a regular basis before deciding if I want to move the jacket along. The jacket was a goner the moment this thought first occurred to you, long before you sat down and started this thread...
I know this because I have been in that same boat myself. First impressions are so important and once it occurs to you that something is off about a jacket it just isn’t going to change.
Good luck with the remake and please keep us posted.
