I LOVE THIS CAP! Seabass, this cap has the right brim dimensions to the volume of the crown on the head. While it may be the fabric, the general design of the cap is of my fav's and I think it is a Sweet cap sir!

I am seriousely considering this to be the model of a future cap. Love the fabric. I find it classy, yet distinctive. I see for me that the volume of material making the crown might have to be reduced so that the "overhang" of the cap, over the ears, would be reduced a bit. Being 5' 3" and 133#'s (after weighing in on Thanksgiving) I see that the proportions, IMO, need reducing. the only feature that I still need to consider is the proportion of brim in the front of the fabric.

Seabass, do you have a personal favorite of proportions, or is it an era, or even a specific cap that you see as your fav? In advance, I respect your style opinion.

Lacking cap style, Eric -

Eric !
I did ask Johnny to make this cap less (Puffy) & he did so. I do have 2 others that he made a while back & I love the other 2 also, But he nailed it with this Proportionaly with the Body volume... This brim is fantastic also it just flows... as for the other 2 they may be more period correct for the teens/20's....& this is more sporty & easier to cordinate with more modern cut clothing. But i dont wear new clothing & feel with the bigger cut (my other 2 caps)
that might be the missing link the clothing worn with the caps...it has to Flow.
I did refer to Johnny the other 2 reminded me ot the old pushcart Vendors In NYC i remember as a little kid....
So yes his caps are the real deal & close to most early examples of the french cut... I do have 3 Mr.Freedom which are considerably smaller in body volume but still stand up in the rear which is very important & also have a good sized brim & this cap pictured is in between the other Johnny J caps & the Mr, Freedom in body volume.....
Man i do wish Johnny would start some Newsies 8 panels.... I need to get into those which can be a whole diffrent agenda with correct proportions & body... some can be monster huge...
But Johnny makes a very good vintage style ! & thats what it is....
He can & is capable of adjusting body volume & brim as well.
The fabric is awesome made with old-world tradition.... so that can attribute to the shape it's true to period/era correct for this style. it has the Drape.

Bad to the bone Che! Might have to shrink those jeans now! :) Almost wore my fine Cordova this morning but it was so cold here I had to wear a wool beanie to cover my ears.
