Don't like it with that exagerated brow ridge but it is well executed and probably authentic. I prefer Marc Chevalier's cap.

Thanks for your honesty. That helps me for the next caps I make. I can easily adjust that by moving the snap on brim, but I was also going by this other 1920s picture below. I know its not the same style cap, but I liked the way the front looked:

Nice work Johnny the front profile is dead on the Indra cap. I can see the work that it took to get from picture to real physical cap.
Cookie which of Marc's cap's do you like? All his pictures where pulled offline when he left. Did you save a copy of the picture of the cap in question. I think I have a copy of his cap head shots.

Is this the one?

This is a regular cut 8 dart.

That is one. I thought I had kept another one I liked.

He was a very knowledgable and prolific Lounge member active here (and particularly in the field of suits) for several years... He stepped down from posting a few months ago.

You can read his post's using the search tool. I recomend it.:) Marc knew a lot and became burned out by answering newbie's questions. Sad but happen's to the best of us.:) He collected vintage cap's will everyone else was collecting Fedora's. So he had a wide open field years ago.
I am glad he did because he found some wonderful piece's.

JohnnyJ, the caps are looking great - particularly the single piece French style ones are really rocking - the newer one with the front panel is a little over the top in terms of bulkiness for my liking, but each to their own.

Could you post some pictures of your snaps? The only niggle I have with the caps is highlighted in this photo (below). I can see the snap. It looks like these are ring-type snaps (?). If you used some United Carr nipple/dot-type snaps the snap would be invisible when worn and vintage-accurate. I don't think I've seen any (or if I have then not many) ring-type snaps used on caps from any country pre-1960s. EVERYONE used United Carr (or similar) dot-type snaps. They are easily available in deadstock (I think they still make them, too), and probably use the same attachment tool. This all assumes, of course, that you're going for vintage accuracy. If not, Istill think it looks cleaner when you can't see the snap.

BK thanks for your help on snaps. I will order some and make that change. And for that new style front panel cap, I want to continue making these and I can make changes to it. Probably moving the snap a little higher on crown and also farther from brim edge will bring the front panel down some.
