Cool hat holder for restaurants etc.

When eating indoors, I prefer to remove my hat. Maybe it's all the hat etiquette I learned in the Army.

So here's a cool little holder. They are sold in the Honolulu street markets. It is manufactured for ladies' handbags, but it works even better for hats because they are lighter.

It's a bit larger than a U.S. quarter, and folds up cleverly. The inside face is rubberized so that it grips the table. I used it today at my son's birthday party.

Intriguing device GregNYC.
Any idea as to the maximum brim size that one of these could accommodate?

Brim width? Probably 2". If the brim is not to stiff, you could curve the brim under the hook and it would go up to 3", 3.5". But now that I look at it more, there's another limiting factor. The tabletop has to be shallow.
