Sunday September 17th, 2006 is the 219th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America.
We Americans spend a great deal of effort celebrating St. Patricks Day, Cinco de Mayo, Labor Day, and Secretaries Day, but we seem to forget all this freedom to celebrate is because of the wonderful document - and the principles of Liberty embodied within it.
Do you celebrate Constitution Day? Do you think it deserves a higher place in our priority of holidays? Why do you think the anniversary of this momentous occasion in history is such a low priority amongst a people so anxious to party at the drop of a hat?....
I believe it's time to change our priorities a bit and finally recognize what a magnificent labor of genius our Constitution really is and celebrate the fact that we still have one to celebrate at all.
How 'bout you?
