I recieved an email a couple years ago with a great story attached to it. I didn't respond but I saved the story. They wanted me to open up a US bank account for them to transfer into, but the story they used to persuade me was a great story.

once i received an email from the nigerian scammers. I told them i was the lawyer representing the dead mans wife and i had come to claim the inheritence on behalf of the lady. I said he must comply with the demands of the court or face ligitation.

needless to say the guy was astonished
he still tried to continue the scam though said ok if you are the lawyer you much still send me a fax machine phone number and bank account #. I retorted that on behalf of the court and wife of the deceased he must repond immediately.
After that i grew bored and abandoned it lol

OL Lincsong, I do hear you there.

I just got one, so I spammed him with my own spam (from work no less.) Then I signed him up for 6 singles sits (homsexual, BDSM and swingers) AND then I signed them up for support of their country's equalivent of the mafia. Now, I'm in the process of sgning them up for free heath care.

OUCH! Remind me never to hack you off...

Please be careful before launching these kinda strikes, as spammers can spoof things to look like it came from someone else's address, even your own. I get an "Undeliverable, Returned to Sender" bounce every so often, and sometimes my "From Me" filter catches messages I never sent purporting to be originating from my address.

Here I was thinking this thread is about Insurance companies...

There are some BRAVE scambaiters out there--and sadly, it's a drop in the pond--the cons can do this scam for years and only need 1 sucker to become rich :(

Cheers

Senator Jacks' email reminds me of when I was in 8th grade. A kid in the class saw an ad in a magazine that said " knife handing tips $1" He sent his dollar in and got a piece of paper that said, " always cut away from yourself" or something similar. It was legal because "something" was received for the dollar.

This guy actually is pannhandling online. Marvelous this electronic age, huh?

Like the guy who advertised 'Keep your heat bills down this winter.' For twenty-five bucks the mark got a rock with the instructions to 'place this weight on your heating bill'. Then there was the one about 'solar clothes dryer' which turned out to be an expensive clothesline. Again, all perfectly legal.

I have of late been in email contact with representatives of former Nigerian President Charles Taylor, both family members as well as civilian and military appointees. These representatives have been looking for a person of discretion, high moral character, and business acumen. Naturally they turned to me. Apparently, during his presidency, adherents of President Taylor secreted away certain government funds in first world bank accounts. These people are now looking for partners to help them invest the money in the U.S., and to manage the investments for them. You may ask yourself why they have turned to me, and not to a large investment firm like Lynch or Morgan. The short answer is that you simply are not in the know. Amongst the intelligentsia of the drug cartels, former dictators, and the billionaires of the underworld, I am FAMOUS for my investment abilities. I must admit, the Taylor negotiations would be my single largest deal. I have as of yet not replied to their overtures. I am playing hard to get, hoping to raise their offer. I am easy, but not cheap.

Last night 60 minutes had a story on Realtors and how they're trying to run the on-line guys out of business and such.:rage: I can't stand Realtors

Then after that on MSNBC they had a 2 hour piece on ID theft which I was a victim of in September, due to a theif working as a subcontractor for a company I worked for 12 years ago.

I remember the mess with the realtors in Texas. Really, they want to cut their commision (because it boils down to they pay the closing costs and give you a bit for your trouble) let them. I'm not too fond of realtors either, Lincsong. I watched one rip my parents off because they had to sell, and paid about 10% of what it was worth so they could get another one in a few years.[huh]

I've butted heads with the local Snakes, er Realtors here. They're a greedy slimey bunch. They are so narcissitic it's already a mental disorder. It's one of those occupations where you definetly don't want your daughter to be married to one.:rage:

That I do. Snakes do serve a useful purpose in the food chain; they eat the rats. Hey, it's better to compare Realtors to rats.:eusa_clap

:rage: Yeah, there's a couple stinkin' no good rat Realtors here in town who are always advocating raising taxes, regulations and such so people will get annoyed and sell. They're worst than the most sleezy Boca Raton Boiler Room Operators pitching worthless Long Island "companies" on the phone. One lousy Con-Man quietly moved out of state and was running pro-parcel tax advertisements in the last election. Hmmm, the local schools aren't good enought for his rat-let kids but he wants others to pay more money. The Con-Man is alive and well in the Real Estate Industry.:rage:

Another witch Realtor in town was all in favor of a huge tax increase then she would run ads for herself that said; "specializing in relocations from Alameda to Contra Costa Country".
