Color TV Conversion Recommendations

I've been looking to purchase a vintage television console converted to modern specs. I'm familiar with Telstar's Predictia TV reproductions and with Harry Poster out of New Jersey, who does conversions and restorations. But if anyone is familiar with anyone else who does this sort of thing professionally I'd love to hear about it. It's a big purchase and I'd hate to make an uniformed decision.

I've considered doing something similar, but haven't done anything along these lines. If anyone has done this or has info on how to do it, I'd be very curious about it.

There's a guy based out of New Jersey who makes an online business out of converting vintage sets and consoles by transplanting the "guts" for modern parts. Here's the link: Harry Poster

I suppose, with a little trial and error, this could be done as a DIY project, but I don't know enough about electronics to try it myself.
