Hmmm. I don't suppose that telling him that he's wearing enough cologne to choke an elephant would help either, would it? What would he do if girls told him that? Everyone knows that teenagers don't bother listening to their parents, they only listen to their friends.

No your right, i have begged, cajoled, bellowed, but no go. Actually he does have one sensible friend who i might have to ask to have a word, or his half brother perhaps, good thinking Hepkitty. x

Gents...YOU owe it to YOU...

Those men in here who have always wanted to smell like the vintage height of masculinity needs to search out and try ONE of these scents. The question is..."Are you MAN enough..?" Go on...Treat yourself !

Mostly, I like scents with leather, coffee, tobacco, chocolate in them. Three of these suit that and have that 'old time' masculine scent. Two of them (Aqua di Parma; Knize Ten) are real Golden Era scents that were worn by many famous movie stars and those in the pubic eye of the times.

Jo Malone (Black Vetyver Cafe) I love just because of that deep Parisian Coffee scent to it.

The ONE fragrance that is different (and good for daytime wear) is the light and fresh fragrance of Aqua di Parma (from the 1920's) - the other's are more musky, masculine and richly deep in their tones (which I personally like).

I won a $50 gift certificate from J Peterman. Maybe I'll finally try the 1903 scent.

You really should Scott. The only issue I have with the splash on bottle is that I feel the scent doesn't have enough staying power that way. The spray bottle they offer is considerably less in volume, and not that much cheaper than the larger spalsh bottle...I have put some in an atomizer myself though with good results.

I've always thought splash on as being wasteful compared to the spray.......and you have to wash the juice off your hands after application.

Roger & Gallet L'Homme

Fragrance Information:
L'Homme Roger & Gallet, an original and rare perfume that never ceases to amaze. Its fresh, citrus head notes created by a harmony of mint, juniper berry and ylang ylang is sustained by woody notes enriched with spice and amber. A fragrance with character, that is resolutely masculine.

Where are you buying it?

Clubman Pinaud. It's an aftershave but the fragrance stays all day and I get nothing but good compliments on it.

My favorite perfume ever was Avon's Vanilla Soft Musk.

My Mom gave me a bottle years ago, and I only recently went to look for more (I refused to wear perfume for ages!) and was devastated to realize it's been discontinued years ago. It was the BEST Vanilla scent ever!

I can still get it off of Ebay, but it's getting a bit pricey.

I also was very surprised last time I was in Bath and Body Works, to discover that I actually like their Velvet Tuberose scent!

On guys nothing can beat Bay Rum. And I do like Old Spice.

I am MAN enough today--I have been wearing Knize Ten and I always forget what a deeply satisfying scent this is. Old school, old world and masculine as all get out.....

Has anyone tried any of the Tommy Bahama colognes? I am eyeballing the Set Sail Martinique style but I'll hear just about any opinion on their various fragrances... much thanks folks.
