I was going to put this in the WWII area, but since it's not really about WWII, I'll put it here instead. Long story short, a collection of thousands of plate-glass negatives of photographs taken of allied troops during the Great War, has been found in a French farmhouse owned by the descendants of the photographer and farmer who photographed Allied troops who came to stay at his farm.

Thanks, Scott. Glad you like the article, folks. I found it fascinating reading. The collection of about 3,000 photograph-negatives were taken of Australian, British and French troops who passed by the farm, visited it or who were quartered there during the war. The farmer and his wife looked after soldiers who stayed with them and, because few soldiers had cameras to document their experiences, the farmer photographed them with his own camera to keep a record of the brave young men fighting for his country.
