That's not the sort of weather one associates with England...Newcastle upon Tyne, Uk -15C first time i wen with 5cm of ice on the ground and heavy wind....sorry but i'm italian and that was quite too much
Is it not? english weather is not famous for being the best anyways, but north to south it changes quite a lot. The south can be decently sunny and warm, so to say,...but the further north you go the more "game of Thrones/john snow" type of weather emerges! That's not the sort of weather one associates with England...
@ButteMT61 Thanks Scott! I appreciate those words. That’s really what it’s all about: finding the right jacket to wear for whatever weather condition we happen to be in!Just start a new thread entitled "Thor's awesome as hell pics of the best jacket weather".

Days like that are when it's a job, ha haThese up and down temperatures are crazy; when it goes from the teens up into the 50’s over night, you get heavy fog! A mariner’s worst nightmare. Friday we had zero visibility, rain and growler ice floes across the harbor. Nine hours of high-stress/zero-vis navigation through the always-busy NY harbor was one of my least favorite days as a captain
Next year make sure you post about that, I'm sure a few of our members would be happy to buy a calendar from you.My wife actually collected my boat pics and had them made into wall calendars; we printed a bunch and gave them out to friends. Very popular! Next year we’ll print more.
That's what my family over there said (they originated here in Canada). They said it's a lot of snow for people who've mostly seen snow only in a snow globe! We have about 1-3" of snow here in Blighty and the whole country has ground to a halt!
Nice weather for my Irvin though (even if it is fake!)
In Wales there has been 51cm of snow (in the Vale of Glamorgan, the southernmost district) and record low local daytime AND night-time temperatures in the industrial valleys (Tredegar -6C at night, -4.7C mid-day yesterday). And this is a generally mild part of Britain. We have about 1-3" of snow here in Blighty and the whole country has ground to a halt.
