I doubt anyone wore something like that in the golden era. Hollywood rewrites history in a distorted way.

I'm not sure. I think it's a pretty typical Zoot Suit. I don't know about the colors though.

well at least he's matching the brick facade of the fireplace behind him. That's one thing. Okay that's THE thing. There's a lot to be said about certain photos being shot in black & white.

Agreed. I had a hard time wording it in such a way as to not include "colorful metaphors" that may offend. That and I was laughing too hard. The page that came from had photos of other zoot suits that were a little more tasteful. They're still not my thing though, with apologies to all those here who are into zoot suits.

Zoot suit shot?

Isn't that from someone's website? Laura Nolan or something like that.
Funny thing is, if you used more subtle, sophisticated tones of the same colors it could actually look sharp; the "Comic book" colors are too much though.
Legend has it, the man who pioneered the Zoot Suit was buried in a lavendar one.... THAT would be something to see.

Hmm...well, that's the Mask. I suppose you have to excuse that dress, mainly because that's the character.

The guy on the first page that started this whole thread however, he looks way to smug to be dressed like a clown. What on Earth is that all about?

It would be disappointing if the maker of that suit were a member here or by chance came across this website. Perhaps thinking the lounge would be of help in their custom tailoring, they find a thread where their work is being mocked. Such a shame. I hope "Carol Nolan" as their name is on their website, http://www.murrayontravel.com/carolnolan/ doesn't find the lounge. It would save them a lot of pain.
