Churchill Beaver 100 Vicuna

Not the NMarcus 100 but what I would guess is an earlier older brother: a Churchill Beaver Vicuña 35.

It may be heresy but I think I like this hat more than all but a tiny handful of my Stetsons.

I found the felt nearly indistinguishable from the 100, which is just noticeably a bit softer and maybe a tiny bit thinner. The 35 also has a rougher edge.

Is this the one that had been hanging around on ebay a good long while. I was always curious about that one but never enough to purchase.
I understand totally the statement about preference. My 50 is as fine a felt as any other hat i have. Churchill made a heck of a hat with those.

I did get it on eBay, although I only saw it for sale once. I got outbid, but the high bidder retracted his bid and the seller gave it to me for my previous winning bid.

Churchill Beaver 100 with Vicuna. Bought on eBay about a year ago. This hat is different from any others I see on this thread, most others having a wider brim, etc. Originally, this hat had a Cattleman's crease when I got it, and the sweatband had a tear through it. It was a size 7, so I needed to upsize it anyway. The hat has a 2 inch brim with a true Cavanagh edge, and a 5 1/4 inch open crown. I've just dry creased the open crown for these pics. I've taken pics of original sweatband. Just gotten hat back from hat shop repair at Paris Hatters. The original sweatband didn't have any store name on it. I'm guessing this is about a mid 1960's hat because it originally had that LBJ period look.
