Christmas for Aunt Sis

Today I called my Aunt Sis (b.1918, she is my Great Aunt) to wish her a happy Thanksgiving. As the conversation progressed, I asked her what she would like for Christmas. She told me that at her age she didn't really need or want anything.

I thought that there should be a way of finding music or radio shows from the late thirties to early fourties that should put a smile on her face, but I don't know where to start.

Any advice?

There are also many sets of old radio programs on CD. Think The Shadow, Amos and Andy, etc. Check Ebay, do a search for "OTR" or "Old Time Radio". Good luck. I thinkk you are on the right track to find something she will enjoy.

Some OTR is as close as your nearest big bookstore -- there are some very fine boxed sets available of the most popular programs, as well as anthologies of popular shows organized by theme. These are regular Audio CD's with the programs in restored audio so there wouldn't likely be any problems getting them to play or any problems with poor sound.
