Chinese sizes bear no relation whatsoever to western sizing.
You have to ask the seller for measurements.
I am a 38, the thedi and freewheelers copies are tagged XL

Thanks...I did ask, haven't heard back. I had a shawl collared Ali express knock off that was tagged an XL and fit like a 44". Good to know, thanks for the info.

I went down this route once.. I was after a jacket similar to what Fine Creek produce..
the folks who made the jacket were fine i received an email or two and was even sent a picture of the jacket construction..
The leather looked ok, but felt funny,
The jacket didnt smell all that nice, the hardware wasn't that great, the lining didn't feel all that good..
Yes the jacket was cheap.. and thats what I got cheap.. its not worth it..
you will never wear this jacket in place of one of your better made jackets..

Those jackets are made for certain group of people in China, people who don't have money to purchase leather jacket, so call "mall jacket " in here(they are very expensive in China, probably $600 or up) but want looks cool. The maker knows exactly what those customer what, they cut the price, use cheapest material, funny pattern. It's the jacket that looks like it made from your uncle.
Why you wear those jacket when you already have the high end jacket like Aero.

Of course you wear whatever you like.

That is an XL in China. I'm a 44/46, sometimes 48, in the UK - and in Chinese sizes, I need either an XXXL or XXXXL.

Frighteningly, Chinese sizes also go down to an XXXS!!!

Depends what you order, inevitably. I've seen Chinese craftsmanship on pretty much anything that was the equivalent of what is available anywhere else in the world. They can do it - but if you want to pay fifty dollars for a leather jacket, it's certainly not gonig to be their finest hour. I'd like to see this one in person, looks at least comparable to the Wested version.

I have 2 jackets off aliexepress. One perfecto ripoff , other one is highwayman style. Trying to get rid of them.
Some sellers do offer actual pics with measurements before sending.

but IMHO for ~150-200 its not worth it.
Ali has lot of buco/horsehide ripoffs too.

I have had five jackets from China, I think it will be hit and miss depending on who made it. Some of the Chinese jackets are cut to asian sizing with tight arms like an A-1 and high arm pits and others are more western sizing but like I said I have had not many.
Only one had a smell from tanning and that was not really strong but is noticeable.
For Build quality this is as well made as any schott and the soft cowhide leather is good, my only complaint would be the buttons are a little loose.
I have been buying jackets for 34 years and have had aeros, eastman, buzz ricksons, kelso, schott, and at least 100 1950s or earlier vintage jackets.

Loose buttons are pretty common on anything mass-produced these days. Not sure if it's a machining issue or if they cut costs by using lesser thread... With most overcoats I end up resweing them myself, usually with waxed thread...

You are absolutely right, I bet that they simply use whatever threads they have in the factory to sew on the buttons, I had to re-sew all the buttons on my Bronson B-10 just to make sure that they don't fall off.

As much as I do not like their ruling regime, you do get some quality garments from China these days, as long as you know where to find them. They don't actually look that bad, as long as it is WYSIWYG. My experiences with these so-called Chinese knockoffs are so far positive, but mainly with fabric/cloth/denim repros, the C/P value is certainly as good as what you get from those 'higher-end' brands.

It does often tend to be with leather goods that the corner-cutting starts to come apart when you spend low. With most first world manufacture rising in price, though, I can see there being a larger market over time for more mid-low price offerings from overseas if they can maintain a sufficient quality. Nothing will beat my Aeros for me, but there was certainly a time when I'd not have been able to afford them.
