Okay, I'm a newbie and can't get the FL search engine to work for me.

Has anyone read The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril yet? I hear it's a treat for pulp fans.

I usually don't like novels with famous authors as characters, but I thought that this one was quite well done. I have no idea how accurate the characterizations of Gibson and Dent are, but it's a good adventure/mystery story and I highly recommend it.

On the other hand...a copy was given to me by an author friend with the comment that I didn't have to return it (?). It became clear when I couldn't finish the first chapter...so-o-o-o-o boring...maybe I should pick it up again and give another chance.

I got this book for father's day. I love my wife and kid but I could have done without the book. Just awful. Overwritten, boring, long-winded, name-droppy, infantile. The famous authors could have been famous actors or famous coughdrop box models or not famous any-old-bodies since all they do is whatever the plot dictates. This is definitely no 7% Solution or A Feast Unknown.

So, yeah, it should have been about drinks.
