I liked Mr. Roger's, Sesame Street, and 3,2,1 Contact. When I was a little bit older, I watched re-runs of Magnum PI and then Remington Steele with my mother (an hour everyday after school).

The other ones I watched with my parents were MASH and the A-Team.When my parents got cable, we watched a lot of Nick-At-Night repeats: GetSmart, Gunsmoke, etc.

Eddie Driscoll shows just how far he'll go for a laugh.

That's pretty funny actually lol

Nick-At-Night..... boy did they go downhill. I used to be able to watch Mr. Ed (my favorite) and then one day they stopped playing all the older shows and started playing shows like Full House

Going back to my childhood again, Soupy Sales was a favorite of mine. His fast paced banter and the off screen sounds from Blacktooth and Whitefang had me in stitches most of the time.

As for puppets, my favorite by far was the Winchell-Mahoney Show. Paul Winchell was a ventriloqual genius.

Anyone else remember these:

The Hudson Brothers' Razzle Dazzle Show (with Canadian comedy hero Billy van):

And probably my favourite (and we have a three disk DVD package now that our little girls love) The Hilarious House of Frightenstein!

My grandma introduced me to this show when I was much younger, ha. It's still a favorite of mine.

Also, All in the Family. They still show it on TV Land on and off, and I love that show too.

I don't remember Hobo Kelly, but I was only 4 in 73'. I vaguely remember Wonderama though.

Romper room was a big deal. I wanted one of those magic mirrors :)

Another favorite was The New Zoo Review.

I thought New Zoo Review was Cleveland TV! Cool.

Captain Kangaroo, Captain Penny, Mr. Rogers, and a local show called Barnaby. Also The Beverly Hillbillies, I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island. All that took me up to about 11 AM every morning. :)

At Christmastime, Mr. Jingeling (From Halle's Seventh Floor)

I was born in 1989, and when I was a little kid, I used to mainly watch Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Sesame Street, Muppets, and a number of cartoons on the network Nick Jr. (I'm not sure if it still exists). I had also been raised on classic television shows of the '50s, '60s, and '70s; I Love Lucy, The Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island (my personal favorite), Happy Days, The Brady Bunch, The Andy Griffith Show, Leave it to Beaver, and to a lesser extent I remember seeing I Dream of Jeannie, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza. I remember when staying up late used to mean watching this, and not the mess of garbage that encompasses the majority of TV. It's not that I watch too much television anymore anyway, if I want to watch something, chances are it's already on YouTube, and that includes these older shows. I like to revisit them from time to time.

Lidsville was one of my favorite shows back then. I never realized until now that Butch Patrick of Munsters fame was in Lidsville. The cast also included Jerry Maren (one of the original Munchkins) and Felix Silla (Cousin Itt from The Addams Family).

Soupy Sales. I love the story where he told kids to sneak into Mom and Dad's room, take $1 out of Dad's wallet and send it in to him at the studio!

Apparently quite a bit of money came in. I believe it was given to charity as they did not have any return addresses for the cash

Back in the early 60's, 'The Samurai' was a huge favourite down under. The schoolyards were full of little ninja's...

I dont believe it was distributed beyod the Phillipines and Australia, and was certainly an unusual show to embraced by whitebread Aussie kids of the 60's.

When the star of the show visited Australia in the 60's, the turn out was reputed to be larger than that for the Beatles visit. It still has a cult following today and is recognised as the fore runner of many martial arts films.

Few Aussies of my era have not heard of 'Shintaro' or 'Tombay of the Mist'.

On Saturday mornings, it would be followed by the Crimson Ghost or Commando Cody on TV.

I think for me it was I Love Lucy reruns, the Munsters and a show on Saturday by the name of "Fury" starring Peter Graves and a black horse. Never missed it. There was also one named "Sky King" about a rancher who flew his own airplane out west. Of course there was College Bowl, later in my life was on it some OMG too long ago!--John

Ah, the adventures of Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smith. Paul Winchell was indeed a master. He was also the voice of Tigger of Winnie the Pooh fame. Winchell was also an inventor and participated in the invention of an artificial heart.
