Pinch the area between the two (or lower two) buttonholes. Can you feel a separate third layer in the middle? If not, it's at least partially fused.

A quick update on my experience with the suit.... as noted above, I bought the black one. Wore it out to a cabaret/ burlesque night last Sunday, and I along with the friend I was with ended up being photographed by a young lady who introduced herself as a final year fashion student photographing people's outfits for a project.... I figure that was something of a compliment?? lol

An update on stock - when I picked my suit up last Saturday, they had only a couple of jackets left in a 42L; not aure about the trews. They also had the other linen suits at the front, which had been labelled at £200 for jacket and trousers and come as a suit (as opposed to 'mix and match' trousers and jacket to get your sizes), marked down to £150. Not sure of the sizings, though.

Fused or Not?

Dear Sir,

Our Irish Linen suits are fused rather than canvassed or half canvassed. If we were to finish them in this way the cost would be a lot higher, probably £300-£500 minimum.

You can by a half canvassed suit in Paul Frederick for USD300 to as liitle as USD150 on sale...made in Asia of course.

Unfortunately Racing Green, and most high street places, are only offering 2 button jackets this year and I prefer the cut of a 3 button jacket. I've seen these for sale at Pakeman Catto and Carter (http://www.pakeman.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=6450) and Roderick Charles (http://www.roderickcharles.com/p/Suits/040201040006.htm), but would like to find something a little more reasonably priced.

By the by, if anyone is looking for a 2 button jacket, Peter Christian (http://www.peterchristian.co.uk/Catalogue/Suits/100-Linen-Suit) offers a well priced suit, the jacket of which is half-lined. This is a surprisingly rare thing in Britain, and I would have thought it should be more common given the heat linen suits are usually worn in.

Sadly they don't appear to stock matching trousers - if only they did then I'd award bonus points for the jacket being half lined.
