There are very few moments in a man's existence when he experiences so much ludicrous distress, or meets with so little charitable commiseration, as when he is in pursuit of his own hat. Good advice but you might want to catch it fast before a bus or car runs over it---something he didn't have to deal with in his day. A wagon wheel or a horse hoof did much less damage.
