Yes whatever works and fits the bill is what really matters, go with what looks right and feel to you and not just what sometimes we see everybody else have in their collection what not, as they don't always wear what they amass.
I just like myself a bit larger brim 2.5 and up or so depending on the overall look I want.
Am sure you will find the right lid out there Gustavo and good luck with your journey.

If those are your only four choices, go with the D'Aquino.
The Cavanagh looks 70's or newer. I had a newer Cav Homburg, the felt wasn't as nice as the vintage. The Sterkowski would be my second choice. I would avoid the Bollman.
Check out the threads here dedicated to custom hatters like Art Fawcett and Black Sheep, to name a couple. Many are Lounge members and can answer your hat questions quickly and accurately. Plus make you something much nicer for not a whole lot more than some of those you linked to.

40s and 50s gangster to me runs 2.5 to 2.75" brim with an open crown that runs 5.5 - 5.75"

That Cav says late 60s - 70s with the liner, black sweat, tapered crown, etc. and to me is worth about $40. But everyone has their own preferences and ideas about the styles they like.

What fashionistas today call Gangster tends toward trilbies and stingy brim hats that I would never wear.

Thank you all for your responses , I just noticed that the akubra stylemaster that deadlyhandsome proposed is precisely the hat that I looked for, perhaps in moonlight grey as it may combine with other colors of suits that I have ( black , blue and red), so I will save some more money for that hat. Quite a fedora ! ( I did not even know they could be priced that low, akubras here sell for 250 $ )

64 mm is a hair over 2.5" on the brim....

Depending on which Indy hat you have, this brim may be comparable.
