Can you identify this Aero and should I lengthen a Highwayman?

Grateful if anyone can help.

On another matter, were I to buy a Highwayman, I was thinking of asking for an inch or so extra on the length. I currenly own a halfbelt and I find for me (I am 180cm) it feels a touch too short. Has anybody adjusted their Aero in this way? Does it detract from the intended style?

You won't find that on Aero's product list because it's a custom jacket, made for a member here called Jan Solo. If you search using his name you'll likely find what you're looking for.

Aero will customize any jacket, but adding length to what's meant to be a short jacket might make for a peculiar fit.

It looks like a Cheyenne without the handwarmer pockets. I believe the body has been shortened a bit too.

I wouldn't lengthen a Highwayman. It is supposed to be right at your belt, as it is a motorcycle jacket. If a bike jacket falls below your belt, it will ride up while seated on your bike.

Adding an inch in length to the Highwayman doesn't hurt that style whatsoever. Many Highwayman owners have done so. In my view..the jacket should at least completely cover the belt.

Length is good

I agree with Mr Hoosier. Many folks wear their jackets too short which makes them look out of proportion (my opinion only) add an inch or two and enjoy. BTW Bruce Willis wears a Tony Nowak repo 1950's half-belt in the new film Surrogates which is worn at a nice length (ie over teh belt-line; an inch or two longer than what you often see).

As I recall, JanSolo's coat is a heavily customized version of the Aero Cheyenne - shorter length, slimmer fitting, scalloped front-pocket flaps similar to the Aero Mariner, no hand warmer pockets, and I believe the back has a Highwayman style yolk.

I had a Highwayman with an added inch and it was fine. I ended up selling it though because it was a tad too big all around. It was a 46. I usually wear a 44 but had a regular highwayman 44 and felt it was too short and too tight in the shoulders, but the 46 was a tad too loose. Frustrating. But as far as the length goes, adding an inch improved the length in my case. I'm 1.80 (about 6 ft.) and have a long torso, so the extra inch improved the fit for me as the regular was way too short.

On a somewhat related note, I've seen quite a few Langlitz jackets that look short, even when in riding position. (See example below.) I don't own a Langlitz but I assume they know how to properly fit their jackets so it's a bit puzzling to see such fit.

Well, that extreme low waist on those jeans exagerates the jacket's shortness.. I'm no expert on cycling-jackets, but if you like a low waist-pant, add a few inches to your highwayman or catch a cold..

I've got two Langlitz jackets and yes their lengths are just fine. Since the buyer supplies their own measurements, anything wrong with the sizing is usually customer error. I had one made at the belt line and one two inches longer.
