Can someone tell me anything about this artist?

I bought a orginal art deco painting, its probably from 1930's, it looks like it could have been an illustration that would maybe have been the prototype used for a magazine cover. The style is very much like Erte. The artist's signature is H. Brandes. Anyone know anything?

It might help if you posted a picture of the print and also could find out the first name of the artist. There were a few artists under the name of Brandes during many different eras. It's difficult to give any info about something with minimal details. If you can't post a picture of the print, a better description would be useful, such as the medium, size, full artists name and content. Other than that your best bet would be to try to search the web, since you have the art in front of you, you have more options than we do as to searching by description.
