I was pleased to receive my Camptown Model 1936 Fieldmaster today. As proud owner of hat number 3 I can tell you that it is finely made. First off, let me tell you that I am NOT one of those folks who wants a hat that exactly matches an Indy hat in a specific scene in a specific movie. That being said, this one sure seems to have the classic Indy look down when the crown and brim are appropriately creased and shaped.
For a beaver blend, the felt is nicely soft and has a wonderful feel to it. It sports a high crown and no taper, as Indy aficianados desire. Color is a great chocolate brown and the grosgrain ribbon is skillfully applied. The perforated sweatband is another evidence of quality and a well done liner sporting the Camptown logo under plastic is in the very inside top.
As you can tell, I am very impressed with the hat and it was well worth the wait and the price paid. I would be glad to answer any specific questions anyone might have.
By the way, I have no affiliation with Camptown Hats other than an early adopter. After almost expressing doubts in an earlier post, I felt I owed Ken an honest word after delivery.
