1940's Penney's Horsehide cycle/ sport jacket.

The same model was offered by Sportclad, the other Penney's brand at the time.

Jacket has beautiful patina, and has been stored in a closet inside plastic to protect it. The tag labels it as a size 40.

The lining is a beautiful green. The only issues i can find are that the lining has wear on the bottom and in the cuff areas, and the zipper has come loose which prevents it from zipping (should be able to be repaired by a tailor).

Pit-to-pit: 22.5"
shoulder-to-shoulder: 18.5"
sleeve: 25.5" (following the curve slightly)
Back length: 26.5" (neck seam down to hem)

Asking $250 shipped

Do you have a picture of the back measurement? I'm usually a 40 long and 26.5 sounds like it would fit me, but I want to be sure.

Here is a photo for you

coat is completely wearable, i store it in a closet, and recently conditioned it. the only issue is the zipper needing replacement or repair to allow it to function

Splintercellz, your jacket is (except for the size) pretty close to what I'm looking for. May I have your permission to retain copies of the photos for reference, and explaining to dealers what it is I'm seeking?
Thanks,
Jim
