Buzz Rickson William Gibson sizing question

Does anybody have any experience of sizing in William Gibson series garments?
I thought that I’d managed to find a BR jacket that I had been seeking for a while (a 37-J-1) in ‘my size’ (now a 42) only to find that the P2P for a 42 is 24” and the shoulders are 20”.
In my experience BR jackets are usually trim and I have been seeking an olive green 37-J-2 in a 44, but this looks like it would swamp me.
My shoulder measurement is usually a regular 19” and prior to weight loss I had typically opted for a 23” P2P although my chest circumference is now 41”.
Is this common with WG series (I.e. oversizing)?

I have owned several Buzz jackets including a William Gibson A2. I find them to be true to size. The WG is my favorite fitting A2 and that is not easy to achieve. I don't know the model you are referring, perhaps it is the style that gives the odd measurements.

It’s a 37-J-1 (USN 1930’s summer flight jacket), which is usually quite trim fitting.
The quoted measurements are:

Size 42
Chest width 24"
Shoulder width 20"
Arm length 26"
Back length 26.5”

This seems more typical for a 44” to me.

Seems they do fluctuate, but are not overly small sized like many Japanese jackets.

I have owned two of these Buffalo Buzz jackets. This one is marked a size 44 and actually fit like a 46. I kept the one marked as a 42 because it fit like a 44.

I have also owned a size 40 which fit more like a size 42.

This William Gibson is a 44 and I would not want a different size.
