I just posted detailed measurements of this suit in the Classifieds section: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showpost.php?p=302904&postcount=14

Curious to see whether any of us have the desire and the cash to bid on this suit. Perhaps someone's waiting 'til the last minute, which is fine. I do think, though, that it would go for more than $300 on eBay ... so don't wait too long. ;)

Remember, this auction ends on Thursday, May 3, at 9:31 a.m. (PST).

Don't worry, Herr Hitman ... all's well.

Thank you, folks, for the kind PMs about the suit. Whether or not it's your size or fits your budget, you appreciate the item for its beauty and style ... and that's a fine thing for me to know.

Fewer than three more bidding days left. Keep those PMs coming :eusa_clap

Sadness

Congrats MC well played squire:eusa_clap . You should at least see it off at the wharf with suitable protocols like streamers etc. That was a loss to the American sartorial patrimony IMHO:(

Forgot to mention this before ...

I bought the suit hoping very much that it would fit me. The seller's "Buy-It-Now" price was $200, which I paid. Judging by the prices that suits of this vintage, cut, and quality (despite the small size) have been fetching on eBay for the last year, I really do believe that it would command a winning bid price there of between $300 and $400. (See links below.) If a Lounger ends up winning it here for, say, $301, I'll be happy ... and the Lounger can be satisfied that he didn't have to compete with eBayers who'd be willing to pay over $350 for the same suit.

Mark do you like that Linen suit that much that if you had your druthers and the linen and the dosh ...you would copy same using Memphis as your template and then walk around "with your feet back on the ground"? Please advise.

If I still had my 17-year-old school-boy figure :-/

If I still had that tight, slim figure of mine with a 30" waist, then I'd have snapped this baby up.

Sadly that 'body' was a few moons ago and the chapter has closed on my ever wearing a 30" trouser waist (to me that's like a Size Zero!!!).

But a beauty of a suit Marc and I hope it goes to a good home and that he wears it well!!:)

PHOTOS PLEASE....

Many thanks Roger, Cookie, Paddy and Slicedbread! If I had the ability to reproduce that suit, I'd have one made for each of you ... in a wide selection of colors and fabrics. *Sigh* Dreaming, dreaming ... :(

The winning bidder is a gentleman from Paddy's corner of the world: a truly nice fellow and a valued contributor to the Lounge. You all know him, I think. Here's hoping that he will 'photographically' reveal himself, wearing the suit!
